I have compiled a few social media accounts by some famous and not famous people who are sharing something for us all to appreciate and/or learn from. Don't forget to follow me on Facebook where I post interesting things like this daily! As always, please send me any you find!

TWITTER    

  1. Itzhak Perlman tells beautiful stories and plays the violin every few days. Here is a story about Beethoven.
  2. Yo-Yo Ma Plays beautiful cello music. Here is a song he played once for Mister Rogers.
  3. Cellist Alisa Weilerstein plays daily on Twitter. A movement of the Bach Cello Suites each day.
  4. Josh Gad (plays Olaf in "Frozen") on Twitter, 10 minute storytimes at 7:30 pm each night -   #gadbookclub @joshgad
  5. Learn How to Draw and Draw with Michael Woodside, a Disney animator teaches you live on Youtube and streaming. @AnimWoodsy
    He will announce on his Twitter account when he will have the next class on YouTube. And you can upload pics of your children's final drawing to him too
  6. Dav Pilky (author of Dog Man and Captain Underpants) Drawing and Read-A-Louds on ALL Social media every Friday at 8 am
  7. Sandra Boynton is a children's author and illustrator of fun animal books for little ones. Here is one of her characters collaborating with Yo-Yo MA.
  8. NEW!! LevAr Burton is doing three live reading sessions on a weekly basis on Twitter. Starting Fri April 2,  beginning with a reading for adults at 9PM on Fridays, followed by a session for children every Monday at 12PM and one for young adults every Wednesday at 6PM.
  9. DC KIDS CAMPS fun on Twitter and Instagram - Today DC launched DC Kids Camp, a fun new program to help parents engage kids at home. Parents can follow DC Kids social channels—Twitter and  Instagram—to download kid-friendly, superhero-themed activities and previews of past and upcoming DC middle grade graphic novels to enjoy at home. The DC Kids social channels will also feature entertaining videos from all-star authors and artists for parents and kids to watch together.

Once on there you can find more with variations in fabric, quality etc. Here is ht e15 minute mask by ready set sew. This one is pretty exact and professional but there are other DIY easier if you like. Here is another easy one,

  1. Artventures at Home -- Mon-Fri for 15-20 minutes instruction on how to build a sketchbook using materials from home (cardboard, duct tape, paper, shoelaces) or drawing human faces. The classes are for artists of all ages and levels of ability. 
  2. Mindnasium in Franklin Square is posting stories being read
  3. Music for Kids- Laurie Berkner Band- New songs posted daily at 7am, 10am, 3pm, 7pm
  4. Quarentime - Online show - Science and Math and Crafts and Games by science mom and math dad - daily live shows, Mon-Fri, 11-1 pm, live streamed to Youtube and Facebook
