A nonprofit organization that donates new and gently used children's books throughout the world in memory of a 32 year old English teacher who died suddenly leaving behind 5 children, a husband and a tremendous legacy.  Hindi inspired those around her to embrace their talents, challenge their abilities, and take risks in order to do good. Levi's  

Levi’s will recycle virtually any clothing and shoes from any brand. Any consumer who brings an item of clothing to recycle will receive a voucher for 20 percent off a single, regular-priced Levi’s item in-store. There are a bunch of stores in Manhattan.

Madewell

Madewell’s Denim Donation Program takes in your old jeans and donates them to make housing insulation for Habitat for Humanity builds. For every pair of jeans you donate, Madewell will give you $20 off your next jeans purchase. There are stores in Roosevelt Field, Walt Whitman Shops Huntington Station, and Manhasset.

Kiehl’s

Skincare brand, Kiehl’s, now provides their customers perks for recycling their used or finished products. Simply bring back an empty container of any full-size Kiehl’s product to any Kieh’s retail counter and you’ll receive a stamp card. Each time you come in with an empty container, you’ll get a stamp, and for every ten stamps you earn, you’ll be able to select a complimentary Kiehl’s Travel Collection product. In Roosevelt Field.

What they take: furniture and other household items that are in usable condition and do not require any repairs. They will not accept items with that are broken, torn, missing legs or drawers, that have major stains or deterioration, or other similar damage that will make it impossible to utilize without making repairs.

They do not accept the following items: Appliances, Baby Toys, Mattresses, Cribs, High Chairs, Medical Aids (Beds, Commodes, etc.)
