District residents may pick up tickets beginning Wednesday, November 23, 10 am and 7 pm.

Filmmaker Lisa Hurwitz joins us to present her nostalgic tribute to the Horn & Hardart Automats. Once upon a time, these automated food distributors reigned in the New York and Philadelphia metropolitan areas. Simple but delicious food was delivered via machine in Art Deco-inspired restaurants, with patrons originally paying only a nickel for their choice of sandwich or dessert. The documentary features commentary and joyful reminiscing from well-known customers, including Mel Brooks, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and Colin Powell.
