Rockaway Family Fun Day, brought together in partnership with The Joseph P. Addabbo Family Health Center, is scheduled for Oct. 1. The goal of this event is to provide important wellness resources while bringing the community together for a little bit of fun! The jam-packed day will be filled with live music, bounce houses, a dance performance by Jump Dance Studio, and even a burger eating contest sponsored by Meat Up Grill

Local fitness and wellness providers will be lining the street creating a “street fair vibe,” Rockaway Style. The Addabbo Center will have their representatives at their table, and will make available information regarding the multidisciplinary services located at 6200 Beach Channel Drive and 1288 Central Avenue.
Valhalla Vitality, a concierge and telemedicine holistic wellness center, will be on hand to unveil their Infuse and Hypavar supplements, bringing samples – be sure to ask about their subscription services!
The gang at Orangetheory, will join us in their tent outside their location at 133 Beach 116th, to host a rowing competition with trainers and a chance to win an OTF Starter Pack, (valued at $200) 4 free classes, heart monitor rentals for your class, plus fun swag that includes a towel, bottle, and official OTF drawstring sports bag!
ABA Tree, who provides therapeutic services for children with autism at their location at 157 Beach 116th Street, will be on hand to offer families important literature and information to help navigate the world of autism which include severe problem behavior, sleep disturbances, selective eating, and life skills.
Arverne Dental who offer state-of-the-art including low-radiation digital X-rays, teeth whitening system, and numerous other dental services will be on hand.
Be sure not to miss the Meat Up Grill Burger Battle. The contest, which will take place outside MUG’s restaurant located at 165 Beach 116th St, will be divided into three categories – a Men’s Division, a Women’s Division (both aged at 18+), as well as a Teen Division for kids aged 14-18. Contest winners will win a cash prize and trophy – stay tuned for more details!
A few steps away, our friends at Baya Bar will be setting up outside of their location at 133 Beach 116th to raffle off merchandise and give out “Baya Bar Scratch offs”.
Make sure to stop at The Wave’s information table where we’ll be raffling off bagel trays from Bagel & Barista Station.

Traffic note: Street closures will begin at Rockaway Beach Boulevard and extend to the boardwalk at Beach 116th Street. Traffic will be undisturbed along Rockaway Beach Boulevard. Street will be closed from 10 am until 4 pm on Saturday, Oct 1.
