Linda is so happy to announce her next sessions of in-person group training classes. She is offering Puppy Training and Socialization (level 1), Beyond the Basics (level 2) puppy class for puppies over 6 months of age. An all new Rally Obedience class and her very popular Therapy Dog Preparation/Canine Good Citizen classes. She is also offering 2 sessions of her Out and About leash walking class this Spring.

Puppy Training and Socialization Class
Open to puppies 6 months or younger at the start of class with proof of age appropriate vaccinations.
This fun puppy training program is for puppies 10 weeks to 6 months of age. Each week we work on skills needed for real life. Teaching skills needed to greet guests, control nipping and biting, Jumping up behaviors, grooming, veterinary visits, going for a walk and much more. You will be delighted to see how quickly your puppy learns new skills and how much he enjoys playing with his puppy friends. Off-leash playtime is included. Puppies will be grouped as needed by size, temperament and play styles. Puppy classes are an excellent choice for puppies of any size or breed.

Beyond the Basics: Puppy Level 2 Class
Puppies and dogs over 6 months of age with proof of vaccinations
This is a class where your dog will learn new skills, sharpen existing skills and build impulse control and reliability. All while the dogs and people have fun. Best for dogs and puppies who have completed our Puppy Training and Socialization class or have some basic knowledge of the Sit, Down, Stay and Come cues. Your dog or puppy must be friendly to people and other dogs to attend this class.

Rally Obedience Class

Rally Obedience is a Fun Dog sport in which the dog and handler complete a course of 10 to 15 stations. Each of these stations has a sign providing instructions
regarding the next skill that is to be performed. by the dog and handler. Working with your dog in Rally builds a bond between dog and handler while learning great skills for real life. No experience necessary, but basic knowledge of sit, down, stay and loose leash walking is helpful.
Rally is a fun way to learn new skills and connect with your dog as a team. This class is for dogs that have good basic skills and can work around other dogs and people.

Therapy Dog Test / Canine Good Citizen Test Preparation Class
Does your dog love meeting new people? Does he or she like going to new places? Are people naturally drawn to pet your dog? If you answered yes to any of these questions you and your dog may enjoy being a Therapy Dog Team.
The exercises taught in this class are also wonderful basic manners that will work well in everyday life. For example, wouldn't you want your dog to stay quietly by your side while you hold a conversation with another person? Allow greeting by a friendly stranger, come when called and walk on a loose leash. Sounds great, right?
You can work towards both the Therapy Dog and Canine Good Citizen tests at the same time. Therapy dog work is a wonderful way to give back to your community and spend quality time with your dog. In addition to a great temperament, a therapy dog has to have excellent manners. This class will prepare you for most national therapy dog tests. Testing with a national therapy dog organization and the Canine Good Citizen Test is available but not required.

Out and About - Because life happens outside the classroom.
Starts Sunday, March 20th and Sunday May 1st
Take the skills learned in class or at home on the road and build new skills. Life happens outside the training room. Get your dog some much needed physical and mental exercise that just can't be done in a classroom.
This class meets for 4 weeks in a variety of dog-friendly locations to practice and enhance skills like leash walking, coming when called, leave it, manners in public locations and lots more. There is a strong focus on loose leash walking skills and working around distractions. All locations are in Nassau County.
