Holidays are around the corner. Are you and your family starting to feel in a giving mood? Do you want to all volunteer or gather money or things to donate to make an immediate impact? Here are some websites to choose from to help.

- A high school teacher in the Bronx founded this site in the year 2000. It helps teachers all across the country, where they can ask for what is needed for their classrooms or class projects for their kids. You can help locally or across the country! If you are a teacher, you can request help!  You can even help teachers impacted by Hurricane Florence rebuild their classrooms. DonorsChoose.org

- A great place you can donate your hair for kids who have lost their hair for one reason or another. Or you can donate money so that the families continue to get the wigs for free! Wigs for Kids

- This Pajama Program donates new pjs and new books to kids who are in shelters or whose parents can not afford these things. It helps make them feel comfy and adds a bedtime ritual which is so important to kids.

- If you and your family are looking to help animals, here is a Long Island organization that rescues bulldogs. You can find them HERE. You can donate money, time or adopt a rescued dog!

- Living on Long Island we are surrounded by water. What better way to teach our kids than to help clean our Long Island Sound! Here is a great organization where you can choose the beach you would like to help clean! September and October are ideal months to volunteer. Or you can donate money to help too! Click Here

- NYC Mommas Give Back provides infant essentials and support to agencies and shelters in the NYC area serving homeless pregnant woman and families and children (ages 0–5) at or below the poverty line. Donate supplies needed, or money or time.

- Care about the environment? Here is a great opportunity to volunteer to save the environment on Long Island. No experience needed! Kids of all ages can help as well as donate! SEATUCK

- A Long Island food bank. Help volunteer to collect goods for people in need. The whole family can help! Island Harvest
